Abstract

At the “Katíos” National Park was carried out a phenological study of 18 secondary species and the litter fall of the Cavanillesia platanifolia association for one year. there are two basic phenological strategies: one of the continuous assimilation at development and other of inactivity for the dry period; the reproductive efforts have the following three distinct periodicity types: transitory, periodical and euperiodical. The above mentioned strategies are noted for a complex net of phenophases which in turn determines the general community rhythm. The Little Falls the litter falls implies remarkable physiognomical change and produces an accumulation of 8.6 ton/ha/year.
