Abstract
Under the Flora program of the SINCHI Institute, the characterization of the vegetable covering associated with physiographic landscapes is in progress, throughout the northern region of the Guaviare. The objective is to complete the inventory and evaluate the productivity and potential uses of the vegetation. This study shows partial results about the potential use registered far 82 not timber-laying species present in the area, as well as common names and landscape. units. The main uses are medicinal (56%) and food (36%). The families with the higher potential for use are Arecaceae, Helicaniaceae and Fabaceae. Further study of these species will allow the development of sustainable management techniques and to generate economical alternatives for this area.
