Tannins extraction from mortiño fruits, Hesperomeles goudotiana (Decne) Killip. Rosaceae, to be used in an astringent soap formulation

Abstract

The presence of tannins in mortiño fruits, Hesperomeles goudotiana, a native high-Andean forest shrub was determined by preliminary phytochemical analysis in order to know other uses of this plant. The extract of this plant was used for making a daily-use cosmetic soap with astringent properties, which has both industrial and self-supplying potential in the Capital District community.
