Analysis of the Ecological Corridors Classification for Bogotá's Main Ecological Structure
Main Article Content
Abstract
Bogotá's Main Ecological Structure -EEP- was designed to ensure the use of natural areas as a base line for environmental support and land-use planning within the territory. This ecological network was included in the city's land-use development plan -POT-. The "ecological corridors" proposed for the EEP serve primarily to guarantee the flow of environmental services produced by Bogotá's system of protected areas. This paper conceptually and spatially reviews the classification of the ecological corridors described in the POT and offers possible implications of the current corridor classification on planning and implementation of these elements.
