Physiognomic, structural and floristic characterization of some vegetation types of the middle basin of the Tunjuelo river

Abstract

In spite of the strong transformation of the middle basin of the Tunjuelo river the 39,8 per cent of the area still sustains natural and seminatural vegetation that represents the andean and paramo life regions. Four physiognomic vegetation types were characterized: subxerofitic grasslands, subxerofitic scrub, paramo vegetation and riparian forests, registering fifteen floristic communities that provide structural, floristic and ecological information about these related ecosystems.
